The story of us

Before 1964, Lægården was run as a traditional agricultural property by Inger and Olaf Olsen, but in 1964 Olaf went out to the small field on Vemmetoftevej and cut down the grain. When that was done, he opened Lægårdens Camping on the small, former cornfield.

Back then, exactly 30 tent pitches could be squeezed into the field. The idea to found a campsite in Spjellerup came from the local merchant, who apparently wanted a few more customers in the business. The campsite was a success and attracted an increasing number of holidaymakers. That is why it has also grown bigger and bigger year by year and has got many, lovely activities and good facilities for the whole family.

In 2001, Inger and Olaf Olsen made a generational change for Tina & Henrik Storm, who now run Lægårdens Camping together with their 6 children. As we say colloquially: “It’s not a job, it’s a way of life.”

We look forward to receiving you and would like to give you a good holiday, weekend or a few days off!
